• I have always been interested in the conceit of the project that dammed the Yangtse River in order to facilitate the passage of boats up and down the river. In the interests of boosting the economy that damming of the river displaced more than a million people and had a negative impact on both the ecology of the area and the destruction of artifacts. So these two pictures are an ode to the impact of the New World on the Old World.
