Jean Terry Biography

 

Artist's Background

Jean grew up on a vegetable and grain farm in upstate New York. This country life gave her a lasting appreciation for outdoor labor and rural settings – frequent subjects of her paintings.  Since 1978, Kansas has been her home.  In 1995 Jean took up painting and studying art full time.  Jean views painting as a life-long learning process.  She aspires to continually improve her skills of translating the beauty of God’s creation onto two-dimensional surfaces.  At present, she works mainly in pastels where her realistic style is enhanced by color.  Jean has been a signature member of the Pastel Society of American since 2003. She has won national and local awards.
